Many foreign paper giants announced price increases

Earlier, the North American paper and packaging giant - American Packaging Company announced that it will raise the price of cow cardboard by $70 / ton and the price of corrugated paper by $90 / ton from January 1 next year. Bloomberg corrugated packaging market analyst Ryan Fox said that the US packaging company's price adjustment is equivalent to a price increase of 11.5%.

A few days later, several other North American packaging giants - International Paper, GP Georgia Pacific and Smyff Westlock almost simultaneously announced that they would raise the price of a variety of paper products from January 1 next year. Among them:

International Paper said that the price of white kraft paper will increase by $70 per ton, and the price of corrugated paper will increase by $90 per ton.

In the eastern region, the price of kraft paper and white Kraft paper will be increased by $60 per ton, and the price of recycled paper and corrugated paper will be increased by $90 per ton. In the western region, the price of white-faced cattle cardboard rose by $70 per ton and in the eastern region by $50 per ton.

In addition to North America, Europe and Japan have also announced that they will adjust at the beginning of next year.

RDM Group, one of the largest producers of recycled paperboard in Europe, wants to increase the price of all grades of coated paperboard by €50 / ton, which will take effect at the beginning of 2025.

Japan United Corporation announced that from January 1 next year, the price of its coated white board paper will be raised by 10% or more. The main reason for the continued rise in raw material and fuel prices, coupled with the increase in logistics costs and rising labor costs, resulting in a significant increase in the production cost of coated white board paper.

Price increases have still become a common choice for paper mills around the world, and have become an important means for them to improve their profitability.
